Half Leopard Nails...

So I wanted to try a block nail with a bit of a difference, and that is how I ended up with half leopard nails.

I decided to use a bluely colour scheme (although the base is actually purple)

Enjoy

Penguin nails

Super Duper Cute!

Penguin's are my second favourite animal.
so I had to tribute them on my nails...
It was actually super easy, and I love them!
I just made the design up (based on a few I'd seen on instagram) and I need a little more practice to perfect the precision of the eyes and beak.

(the blue blobs were meant to be snowflakes)
I think I'd just do them all penguin's next time.

Gold shiny stars

and after the epic beading fail I thought something easy and simple would be nice.

I actually had trouble applying these ones (again)
see the yucky creases in the corners, I think the design is not great as it doesn't cater to the curve of a nail.

But overall I like the shine, and I much prefer these to my beaded disaster!

OTT beaded nails!

Forgive me for this monstrosity.

I thought I would show you what happens when I get it wrong.
So we know I was giving nail art with beads a try, and I went horribly horribly over the top.

I removed these as fast as I could.

Blue beads and stripes

Today I thought I'd try something new..
I had seen these cool nails at The Nailasaurus  where she had used all these little studs on her nails.

As I don't own any little studs - but I do have heaps of little beads I thought I would try with beaded nails...

I'm not too sure on the overall look.

After leaving the beads on for a little over an hour before I started picking them off while watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch
I decided to pick them all off and paint a simple black stripe.

I think I like these way more, and will probably try a similar blocking design again.

Marble nails...

So I thought today I could give marble nails a try...

from reading various different bloggers I thought I better try out some of my nail polishes and see if I could master the marbling skill.
Here are four thumb nails I tried (and removed)
The pink one looks best - It was slightly watery/thinly coated though...
(also creepily the black one looks like a long old fashioned face painting...)
I have discovered that:
 1) the water temperature is important - too cold and the nail polish sets FAST as
2) Thick or globby nail polish does NOT work. (the black one was very thick - which is usually good for normal nail painting, but it didn't spread in the water - but also the water was cold...)
3) sheer/shimmery nail polish does not show up well full stop. The greeny one has actually two other blue tones which were very shimmery, all that showed up was a slight shimmer (but no actual colour)

The best nail polishes that worked were my revlon ones (I love revlon!)

See how well this manicure turned out!
Lovely colours together!!
This worked so much better than I hoped! (except the slightly bubbly pinky finger...)

Striped fun nails...

another day of uni-break, another day of nail art fun.
Today is stripy!
I actually was thinking of doing Tribal Nails which I had seen lots of online, but my attempts were not very good.
In the end I liked how the plain stripes looked - however I wish they were straighter lines.

I can only improve right?

Spotty nails!

So as it's now uni holiday's I have a lot more time on my hands.
accordingly I have a lot of nail polish designs to try out.

These are some I saw online - the ones I saw looked way better as the dots were all in line, and the same shape/size.
(but hey, I'll keep working on it)

Two tone nails!

So I did mention earlier my new matt top-coat... I gave it another try.
(not so keen on it this time)

I also bought four new nail polishes recently.
(this is two of them)
in some funky random shapes!
I do really like the colours together - just not so sure about the Matt(ness)

Purple: Australis Peek-a-boo

Matte manicure...

I just found a matte topcoat, which I had been looking for for a while.

I decided to have a bit of fun comparing the matt finish to a shiny one, so created this manicure with a dark shimmery purple.
I painted my nails completely purple
then applied matte top-coat
then painted the tips of my nails again with the purple

Overall I quite like the look!

Green and grassy manicure...

I decided to paint my nails with the epic green colour I bought recently!
I then got a bit bored later on and was playing around with some black stripes...

(I was originally just going to do boring parallel stripes on an angle all over the nail)
but then I decided the brush stroke actually looks really cool and kind of grass like...
so then I decided to add a few more green tones.
and created this.
I put my matt finish top coat on the ring finger
(I don't think it looks as cool as glossy finish)

so I painted a glossy top coat over it.
and here is my final result!

Sweet coloured sorbet nails...

I just found some photos of a cute manicure I did a while ago.
I was trying out all my pale colours together, I think they look quite sweet.

(excuse the very short nails- I was in a biting stage)

Multi-coloured ombré nails

These are the nails I painted prior to flying to Sydney. Sorry that I'm posting them late!!! I ended up painting each nail the bright colour and sponging black on top. On the first hand I did (my left hand) i sponged it on (which took a LONG time to get it dark enough) in the end I pare-painted the coloured tips and smudged this, it was much easier!!! I then tried it for the other hand - which wasn't as easy as I was expecting... I ended up paint the bottom half black (with the polish brush) then once that was relatively dry I did a stripe of black near a stripe of colour and used the sponge to blend these... It ended up with a smoother smudge resutl- not just a spotty (obviously black sponged on after) Enjoy the picture of my final result.

Purple and gold nails

Agirlwithsomeclothes is in Sydney!
So after picking at my nails on the plane over I decided I better remove the nail polish - and start again... My lovely sister let me raid her nail polishes and I've just found a colour I must BUY!

 Today's nails look like this...
Revlon: Gold Coin
and Revlon: Rock Star (purple)
